ALEXANDRIA'S DOWNTOWN ROCKS 2023

Unwind after school or work and spring into Alex River Fete at Downtown Rocks 2023, a free Spring concert series from 5pm to 8pm on March 16, March 30, and April 1st.  Kicking off the Alex River Fete will be Chicken on the Bone. For more info contact 318.449.5225 or CommunityServices@cityofalex.com.  Rain site for Downtown Rocks will be Convention Hall.

NORTHWESTERN CHOIR CONCERT

7:30PM

Northwestern State University’s Lyrica and Men’s Chorus along with the Cane River Singers will perform on Tuesday, April 11 at 7:30 p.m. in Magale Recital Hall. Admission is free and open to the public. A live stream will be available at capa.nsula.edu

 

Northwestern’s Lyrica is the treble ensemble. The Cane River Singers consists of most of the vocal students in the Department of Music. Associate Director of Choral Activities Adam Philley directs Lyrica and the Cane River Singers. The Northwestern Men’s Chorus is directed by graduate student Ella Castro. 

 

Castro, who is graduating in May. has directed the Men’s Chorus for the last two years. She will be pursuing her doctorate at the University of North Texas next fall. The theme of the concert is Sacred Farewell as the ensembles honor Castro for her work at NSU. 

 

Philley said the program will consist of a diverse repertoire of songs
